Sea Front Di Martino Pasta Bar, Napoli


The Pastificio Di Martino, a very successful brand, is widening its horizons and has opened in Naples two branches that, I am sure, will make big numbers: one at Capodichino airport and the other – the Sea Front Di Martino Pasta Bar – in the center, just in front of the Beverello port and a short walk from the Maschio Angioino Castle.

Innovative concept, on the ground floor there is a store where to buy the precious and renowned pasta and then the kitchen where the “Devozione” is prepared, a container of 130 grams of spaghetti with sauce offered for 5 euros. Great quality at an acceptable price.

On the first floor there is the restaurant room, which actually follows the very American concept of the restaurant – bar; 23 seats, of which 19 all around the kitchen, on very comfortable stools. A perfect place to celebrate a birthday with your friends.

The menu consists of pasta, pasta and pasta. Literally. To the point that both the appetizer and the dessert are made with pasta (Di Martino of course).

You can eat “a la carte” or choose one of the three tasting menus; we chose the “basic” one, that consists of a starter, or rather the amuse-bouche, three main courses and small pastries.

As an amuse-bouche, a linguine made crispy with sea bass.


Then, the heart of lunch, the three main courses; in order:

Linguine with garlic, oil and anchovy sauce from Cetara.

And, to conclude the triptych, their strong dish, especially in a symbolic sense: Devotion, in fact.

All accompanied by a light red wine: an Agnanum Pèr ‘E Palumm Campi Flegrei Doc.

Finally, after a dessert offered by the house (a rigatone filled with hazelnut cream and chocolate coated)

the dinner ended with small desserts, consisting of tastings of caprese, sfogliatella and other typical Campania desserts, served in a well-made container and convenient to carry, thus giving the opportunity to eat it elsewhere.

Excellent service and I must add that the chef Pierpaolo Giorgio, as well as competent, good and professional, he was also nice, friendly and kind.

Prices absolutely in line with what is offered.
