I liked Matermatuta a lot.
It is in Rome, “via Milano”, a cross street of “via Nazionale”.
Not very big, very neat and flexible with times. They accepted our reservation later than 11pm without any problems.
The white and wood dominates. We had dinner on a mezzanine, surrounded by boxes of wine apparently put there by chance but actually part of the interior design.
Excellent service. Kind, fast and competent.
And there we go, the dinner.
As entrée I had a sea tartare tris.
With side dish of mango salad, oranges and fennels.
For main course lobster cavatelli
Then roasted octopus on peas cardamom pureed soup.
All matched with an icy glass of wine (Ribolla Gialla).
In the end, the desserts:
a pistachio and crunch semifreddo
And a burnt cream with anise powder and liquorice ice cream
And in spite of the quality of the dinner, I paid an honest bill.
